OnePlus has begun rolling out the public build of OxygenOS 5.1.0 to the OnePlus 5 and 5T. The update is based on Android 8.1 Oreo, with the latest Android security patch from April.

Beside the system upgrade and security patch, the OxygenOS 5.1.0 software update accounts for iPhone X-style, full-screen gesture support on the OnePlus 5T. What that means is that the navigation buttons will be hidden in favor of the following swipe gestures when you update your 5T:

  • Swipe up from the middle — Home
  • Swipe up from left/right — Back
  • Swipe up from middle and hold — Recent

Moreover, the update includes optimizations for Gaming Mode in OxygenOS, and category tags in the search section of the app drawer. As usual, this is an incremental rollout so it will take some time before the update is widely available.

Apple updates Clips for iOS with Selfie Scenes, Stickers and more

Selfie Scenes, Stickers, Soundtracks and more.

Apple has updated Clips app for iOS. The update adds more great content for video creation, including Selfie Scenes, Stickers, Soundtracks and more.

The new Clips iOS app brings six new Selfie Scenes that transport you into different worlds. These are 360-degree backgrounds that augment while taking selfie photos and videos. Selfie Scenes make use of Apple’s TrueDepth camera system on iOS devices, which restricts the feature to iPhone X and above models, and the new iPad Pro.

You can blend seamlessly into a variety of scenes, including a beautiful rainforest, a mad scientist’s lab, and even an action-packed scene from Disney Pixar’s Incredibles 2, thanks to the Neural Engine on Apple’s Bionic chips.

Amongst the new additions, Clips now has three new real-time filters that transform video clips into black-and-white comic books, monochrome watercolor paintings, and aged film.

There’s a bunch of new stickers and text labels in tow to use in videos. If that’s not enough, Apple has also added 17 new royalty-free soundtracks to compliment the videos that you’ll be making. Moreover, the newly-added posters lets you create great-looking video title cards with designs including science, sports and even Disney Pixar’s Incredibles 2 and Coco.

Apple Clips 2.0.5 is available to download as a free update on the App Store. Happy updating!
