Apple Pay is now live in Canada, with exclusive access to American Express card holders at launch.
Launched in 2014, the contactless payment system now works in the US, UK, and Canada. All you need is your iPhone or Apple Watch with credit or debit card information loaded into the Wallet app. And then you’ll be able to use it at different retailers using NFC for payments: Indigo, McDonald’s, Sport Chek, and Tim Hortons, for instance.
In addition to the Canada launch, Apple will also launch Apple Pay in Australia, reports Financial Post, on November 19. In Australia as well, the contactless payment system will be available only to American Express customers at launch.
Apple will add Spain, Singapore, and Hong Kong to the list of Apple Pay-compatible markets next year.
